Where To Buy ZyXEL PLA401v3 HomePlug AV 200 Mbps Powerline Wall-plug Adapter (Starter Kit - 2 units)

My home wasn't built with the idea of networking in mind (like far too many these days). Having to deal with my router and modem in either my kitchen or master bedroom was far too annoying. Running lines all over the inside or outside of my house was not an option, and streaming wireless movies back and forth on a network was too slow for comfort.

After all of this, I am amazed that I haven't heard of this before. I chose this setup rather than the Netgear ones due to a lower price and some bad reviews on the Netgear setup. Setup couldn't be easier. Hook one into your internet source, or router and the other one in the room you want to receive in. The kit came with software on a disc, but i never had a need to use it. I was happy to see that it came with a couple of ethernet cables, the only ones I had at home were way too long for comfort.

I can't say much for speed, or if it actually hits 200Mbps. I found that it worked as fast as my internet would provide (yeah, I have rather slow DSL) in every outlet in my house. The setup also worked using surge protectors, I recall a review somewhere stating that it didn't which is incorrect. There may have been a speed loss using protectors, but I didn't repeat my tests enough to prove that.

I am willing to bet that max speed is more dependent on the wiring of the house and the appliances you have plugged in rather than this 200Mbps limit. I haven't tried running this in the same outlet as a vacuum or popcorn maker, but that could be an interesting test.

In the end, I am very happy with this setup. World cleaner than running wires everywhere and faster than wireless. I would even recommend that people with the older Xbox 360's use this rather than the overpriced wireless adapter available.Get more detail about ZyXEL PLA401v3 HomePlug AV 200 Mbps Powerline Wall-plug Adapter (Starter Kit - 2 units).
